Please stop using the phrase “krisis sa Mindanao” o “kaguluhan sa Mindanao” on your news reports. Mindanao is a very big island. While a tragedy indeed happened in Basilan, it is only a part of a big land area. It is a disservice to all who live in Mindanao in peace. People who are not from Mindanao tend to think that there’s chaos all over here in the island, when in fact there is none.

If a bombing happens in Makati or in Manila for instance, you would not call it a “Luzon crisis or problem”, would you? You have to be more sensitive and professional because media has the ability to affect the consciousness of the viewers.

You can help the country achieve what it desires. Choosing your words well in your news report is matters a whole lot.

Life of crime pays in GenSan

Haven’t posted for a while now - been busy with doing a whole lot of nothing!

Ok so here we go.. This has been bugging me for a few weeks now and every time I watch the local news or even just talk with friends etc. it seems to me that the crime rate in GenSan is steadily increasing. Well, that’s something aside from the increase number of malls that seems to be “growing” here in GenSan.

Crime seems to be steadily increasing here in GenSan ranging from the usual stealing from stores, akyat bahay, to motorcycle “carnaps” and motorcycle holdups. I know that with the growth of any given city inevitably comes the increase in petty theft and crime - it just seems that very little is done about it here and only a very very small percentage of wrong doers get caught. Don’t even get me started about all the violent crimes like stabbing and shootings!

Makes you wonder where all the cops are in GenSan and what they are doing doesn’t it? Oh and wasn’t GenSan’s finest awarded something this year for best something something nationwide? (Doing a bit of goooooogle-ing)

Here we go! -  best city police office and a bunch of auther crap regionally. Guess the percentage of crime and unsolved cases was not a factor here!

(more on that here - http://www.gensantos.com/2011/08/09/gensan-pnp-office-awarded-best-city-police-office-nationwide/

Now, I have nothing against cops personally but just really believe that they should get off their fat asses and start making a move! Do more patrols, be around the city more (and im not only talking about hanging around malls) - see and be seen! How would they be able to respond to any incidents in a reasonable amount of time if they are hiding away all the time?

I guess there is a bigger and better chance of safety and security if the citizens of GenSan become more vigilant and organized themselves. Wag nang i-asa sa iba ang kaya nating gawin! Siguro naman we will do better since we will be doing something, which is a lot more than nothing! hehe!

Kapag umuulan bumabaha..

Kung sinasabi nila dati na ang GenSan eh boom town - a city with a lot of potential - ang masasabi ko naman eh ang GenSan eh town, hindi city kundi town, a lot of room for improvement - improvement I don’t expect to see for atleast another 10 years.

Buti pa ang Davao..

Tuko (Tokay Gecko) 1 Million pesos

For the last couple of weeks we hear more and more people talking about this - if you have a tuko weighing over 450grams then you have the ticket of becoming an instant millionare! If you have a tuko over a few hundred grams then you still get a few thousands pesos!

If you ask me, its to good too be true and checking the web there seem to be a lot of people selling but also similar if not more posts of people claiming to buy geckos.

So, has anyone actually been able to sell any geckos for more than the “regular” price a pet shop would?

The more i hear and read about this the more it sounds like a scam to me.Tuko (tokay gecko(
